Master Rigger training:

9-day courses for skydivers looking to acquire Master Rigger  skills. Gained knowledge allows you to make any kind of parachute system repairs.

 

Entry requirements:

- At least 100 skydives.

 

Training time: 7 days, 9:00 - 21:00.

Trainings follows a program described below.

After successful completion of the course, SWS will issue a Master Rigger certificate.

Each course has 2 slots available, for registration send an email to [email protected], describing your full name, parachuting experience, packing experience. After you receive confirmation, a 25% prepay is required(non-refundable).

 

Training program:

1. Rigging organization and regulations.

1.1. Rigging regulations in various countries(practical).

1.2. Parachuting equipment regulations in various countries(practical).

1.3. Certification and droptest programs(conducting droptest and certifications, protocols, droptest it yourself).

1.4. Books(calculation, production, testing, repairs).

 

2. Materials.

2.1. Specifications, nomenclature.

2.2. Fabrics: production, characteristics, types.

2.3. Webbings: types, production, coating.

2.4. Lines, elastics.

2.5. Threads: production, characteristics, which one to choose.

2.6. Metal: production, coating, application, gourmets.

2.7. Various: plastics, velcro, buttons, zippers, cables, rubber bands.

2.8. Ordering materials, choosing the right ones, material production.  

 

3. Parachute workshop tools and equipment.

3.1. Tools(gourmets installation and removal, housing installation, cable finalizing, working with lines - where to buy or how to make (schematics))

3.2. Sewing machines: type, kind(bare minimum for a specific task, finding used or buying new, setup and maintenance). Needles.

3.3. Parachute workshop, typical equipment(warehousing, closing, production, QC).

 

4. Repairs and modifications.

4.1. General issues, tolerances.

4.2. Cleaning.

4.3. Patches, temporary patches.

4.4. Complex patches, partial replacement, repairs and joints.

4.5. Lines inspection, reline and line repairs.

4.6. Containers. flaps Repair. Gourmets replacing. Replacing rigidities

4.7. Housing installation, control, cable mounting.

4.8. Harness: Replacing chest straps, leg straps, changing strap length.

4.9. Repairing d-bags, pilot chutes, bridles.

4.10. AAD installation.

4.11.  Production: closing loops, powertools, harness bands.

 

4. Production.

4.1. General issues, tolerances.

4.2. Cleaning.

4.3. Patches, temporary patches.

4.4. Complex patches, partial replacement, repairs and joints.

4.5. Lines inspection, reline and line repairs.

4.6. Containers. flaps Repair. Gourmets replacing. Replacing rigidities

4.7. Housing installation, control, cable mounting.

4.8. Harness: Replacing chest straps, leg straps, changing strap length.

5 . Manufacturing.

5.1. Prototyping . Patterns . Markup.

5.2. Strength calculation.

5.3. Stitches attributes and types.

5.4. Cutting fabric, webbings, lines ( on what, with what, how ) .

5.5. Making closing loops, lines, softlinks, bumpers. Extra closing loops on BASE canopies.

5.6. Making deployment bags, main and reserve pilot chutes. Making BOC.

5.7. Manufacturing of container pats (flaps, blanks). Parts assembly.

5.8. Manufacture and installation of exteriors (pockets , housings, cables) .

5.9. Making cutaway and reserve handles.

5.10. Making risers, toggles ( design options ) .

5.11. Manufacturing harness systems ( different approaches , different designs ) .

5.12. Testing, QC, labeling.

5.11. Sales ( cost calculation , depreciation, inventories ) . Serial\semi-serial production.
